Okay, I screwed up on this one. I thought starting a drip candle at the beginning of the year would yield a series of photos of a growing pile of wax. Wrong bottle, though. The wax wouldn’t build up enough. I scratched the idea.

There’s not much warmth to the short daylight days in North Dakota. Candles are a popular item to add a bit of emotional warmth. When the sun rises after 8:00 and sets about 4:30, candles get plenty of use. It’s amazing how much psychological warmth candles can bring on the long dark nights.
