November 20 Bare trees, grey light

Barren Tree

Barren Tree

I know this is not a good way to start winter — focusing on the stark, cold barren qualities of the season. Perhaps when snow covers the landscape I’ll feel differently. But for now, I see winter in a rather claustrophobic way — trapped in a world of black, gray and white.  So, I shoot it the way I feel it.  So, north of Wilton, between Washburn, Turtle Lake and Wilton, I pulled over along a barren road to shoot a barren sight.

I’m actually reminded of an old Fleetwood Mac tune and album:

Bare trees, grey light
Oh yeah it was a cold night
Bare trees, grey light
